i'm impressed the big box stores in my town use bell caps, jeff948594 & sigracer10 props to you for soldering. if you dont have time to do it right the first time when are you gonna have time to fix it, i'm just glad to here someone else reliazes the value of doing it right the first time.

well when im up at work, we use crimp caps, and butt connectors and crap like that cuz it saves a lot of time. but on any car I do for myself, family or friends, I solder EVERYTHING! even the speaker wire onto the speaker. it takes a couple of minutes longer but like you said civicduty96 its the only way to do it right.

those bellcaps suck, i trust the twist and tape method over those damn things.

im not talking about the twist on things, im talkin about the bellcaps that bestbuy uses where both wires get twisted together, jammed into the bellcap and then it is crimped

twist wires together
put soldeiring iron against bare twisted wire
feed solddier into wire joint starting at soldering iron and work your way up until soldier flows through entire joint

well if you have never seen it done and no one has ever showed you, soldering can be kinda hard to master. not near as hardas welding though. (I suck at welding, but i'm good at soldering.) the main thing is just experience. I'm a car audio installer so I have solder maaaannnnnnyyy wires so i'm pretty good now.
