Default When i go over hard bumps my cd player skips

1. how do i fix this my friend just installed a cd player for me and when i have to go over hard bumps it will cut off for like 2 seconds and start playing again now i know it's not supposed to do that any way to fix this problem?

2. i need something that can handle some bass what i have in my car now is pioneer speakers but when the volume is turned all the way up it starts to sound like it's getting muffled and real staticy because the speakers can't handle all that bass i don't want like a big sub just want something that can handle a good amount of bass so when i'm in the mood i can have my player turned all the way up?

How old is the CD player? New models don't skip, or are very hard to make skip since they scan ahead on the disc.

Make sure the back end of the player (away from the control panel, toward the front of the car) is secured to the car frame. You may be able to do this by reaching in from the side without taking the dash apart again.

Other than that, some players especially older ones just don't handle bumps well. If the unit does not have a sub output, you should plan to replace it anyway to make a better system with subs.

I'm biased, but I'd have to point you in the direction of the Alpine Type R speakers. Clear sound, handles bass alright. Your civic will need 4 of the 6.5 inch speakers, but with those you won't have the bass you really want. You'd need a subwoofer to balance it out.
