whats that noise!!!!???
ok soooo... i just installed a cat back exhaust. and i have a 2 in sub in my truck mounted right above the exhaust. and when i turn all my music off i hear this loud rumbling noise. its the wierdest thing. then i know its not my exhust cuz i will turn off the engine. i think is my sub vibrating violently!! its redictulous!. any help on what i can do to solve my problem? should i move my sub to the other side? is the sound and the frequency of the exhaust making my sub make those wierd noises????
any help? i wont it to go away!!
thanks

2 inch sub?? damn i bet that thing rattles the whole car dosent it XD
haha just kiddin
anyhow, it sounds to me like htere is power running to the sub causing it to make it run a high frequency, my computer system does that to me, i got 2 satelite speakers and a 10 inch subwoofer, then i turn my computer on, i get a frequency comming from it. i think its normal, idk. i would just live with it lol.

You're saying you hear this noise even with the engine off? Then it's certainly not from the exhaust.
Could be a grounding issue. Also RCA cables should not run alongside the power or ground wires to the amp, as there might be feedback. If the exhaust install involved any arc welding, it could have burned something out.

If it was shorted out, there would most likely be a blown fuse or a fire.
Maybe check the alt like Supersize said.

i hooked up the remote wire to the ignition starter. i tested the volts when i installed it. i got 12 volts while runing and zero while my car was off. soo i dont think it was the remote wire. i bought a cap just to make my self feel better. those things arent cheep either. so i hope its not my alternator.
