hey sorry to bring up an old topic but like.. how exactly do you supply the power to something like this?
i mean obviously the battery but i imagine connecting it straight to the battery would not be a good idea.

(asking for LEDs and washer nozzel replacements with leds)

EDIT:

i've done some research so i figured out that from a switch there are 3 wires.
one goes to the (example light, one is a ground wire, and one goes to the power source

so now the question still remains, the power source wire doesnt just go straight to the battery, does it?

also where does the ground wire go

please pardon the novice questions but this stuff is really interesting

most switches only have two wires. power input and power output.... but if you get a lighted switch then thiers a ground and with the switch turned on it lights up the switch...
for washer lights just run the power wire for them into the cab thru the firewall, wire it to a switch... then run the power wire to the fuse box and FUSE IT!

its preaty simple....
you can wire it directly to the battery or directly to your parking lights for those crapy washer leds BUT if your hurassed by a cop at least you can turn them off with that switch!

heh i agree the washer LEDs are tacky but they're fun.

also i still dont know what to do with the ground wire.

EDIT

do you just solder the ground wire to the chasis?

for a ground look anywhere on the vehicle for METAL and a bolt or nut.... take off the nut or bolt and simply scratch off any paint under the bolt and just stick the wire under and tighten the bolt/nut back down

doesnt realy matter to much as long as its metal it should run to a grounded source... BUT to be sure you can buy a simple test light... just clamp the ground end onto what ever and touch the power course.. if she lites up its a ground
just be sure ya scrap off any paint. ya need bare metal.
