A trick I picked up...
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share a little something that I think makes any install in a 99 or 00 civic. When I installed my new head unit I HATED the mounting kits available so what I did was mount the head unit right in there, screwed right to the metal on the sides, then installed a pocket from the bottom slot of a 96-98 civic in below (or above) the unit, it will also mount right to the metal. It looks super clean when it's done and you have a useable pocket instead of a pensil holder. Hope this helps and I'm sure a lot of you know about this but, take it easy on me.

My head unit mounted right to the stock holes in the bracket too. I drilled 2 small holes in the factory pocket and it screwed right in place as well. Saved spending money on crappy "install" kit. Also kept the factory pocket.

You can also use the stock 99-00 stock pocket. Mounting it can be tricky but nothing a lil duct tape wont fix
