testing amps & subs to see if they still work?
My CD head unit is no longer working CORRECTLY, but even when it was, all of a sudden my bass totally cut out from my one subwoofer in the back.
I also have one amp for the subwoofer and one amp for the back speakers. It seemed that both amps cut out at the same time.
Since there was no way for me to test with my old-as-hell CD head unit if everything was still working (I checked fuses and they were all still good in the amps), I took the box with the subwoofer out and the amps alltogether.
Now, I have no sound at all. My head unit still works in that I can still see everything on there (radio stations and the CD in there (which is stuck and hasn't been able to come out since late summer last year), but no sound is being delivered to my front or back speakers.
I eventually want to put a sub, if possible the same one, with just one amp for the sub, in the trunk, but really right now I just want to know if there's a way that I can test the amps to see if they still work and test the subwoofer to see if it still works without using my car?
Can I bring it in to a car audio store or something and have them test everything just like you bring your battery to AutoZone to have it tested??
Thanks for any info!

RE: testing amps & subs to see if they still work?
Depends on the store
depending on the strength of your sub you could plug it into your wall socket (but it's probably not that strong)
Im sure if anything it was a wiring/ground/head unit issue, not your amps/subs
especially since they both cut out at the same time
