Default sub & amp question

hey guys,

i've read these forums but never actually posted before since my civic is as stock as you can get :-( and never had the cash to actually do anything about it..

I've been saving up for like a year and I finally have some money to invest into an audio system

I bought the head unit a few months ago (it worked out really nice), I got

Alpine CDA-9815

now i need to buy an Amp & Sub. When I got the head unit installed, i also go the wires put down for the amp. I've got a 2 gauge running from the battery to the back and some decent rcas with that.

i've narrowed the sub & amps down to 2 pairs. One set is slightly new & more money but i am not sure if the extra money is worth it. can some one give me their opinion?

MRV-T320
SWE-1241

I guess you can call the above entry leve, and the below slightly above entry level

MRD-M301
SWR-1221D

Any opinions would be much appreciated.

thanks guys,

I would go with the SWR-1221D amps and im not sure about the subs. MTX and Fusion pretty good for a sub if ur intrested. And o yeah if u ever thought about buying Sony xplod sub dont cuz those are not reliable, cheap and sound isn't that gr8t.

Also stay away from the company call Dual they also sux. They maybe sell their product at a good deal price but their product sux. Such as the 12" 1000watt sub that come with dual sux box with neon light inside that cost only around 100 for all that stuff.

hey HondaCivica,

i was thinking the same as the SWR-1221D has a dual coils it would have a little more kick. i dont know how much difference there would be...so that is why i had to ask you guys.

also if i were to go with the 1221d (who rms is 300w), i would have to go with the MRD-M301 since its rms is around 300w and the rms for MRV-T320 is only about 200w.

thanks for your opinion, i appreciate it.

Oh god, dont get anyhting alpine that is amp or subwoofer wise! That crap is a waste of cash. I used to work in a local car audio joint and screw around with those crummy alpine subs and amps all day long. TRUST ME. A real bang for the buck are JBL subs and amps. They carry class d amps deisned specifically for subwoofers which are excellent for honda becasue they dont use as much power like most AB amps and they dont get so hot to the point you can cook an egg on it either.
