Stereo Wire Help
Hooking up my new stereo and have more wires on the headunit wireharness than I have on my harness going to the vechile wire system. I have all the speaker wires connected, but coming out of the radio I have...
Battery - Yellow
Illumination - Org
ACC - Blue
Mute - Yellow / Black
System Remote Control - Blue / White
... and out of the car's wires...
12V - Yellow
Illumination - Org
Positive Dimmer - Org / White
ACC - Red
Power Antenna - Blue
Now, I can figure out that the Battery and 12V wires, Ill and Ill wires, ACC and ACC wires, go together; but what should I connect the Positive Dimmer wire too? the System Remote wire goes to the amp and the power antenna isn't used, correct?
Any help would be great.

RE: Stereo Wire Help
The blue with white stripe should be the power antenna. The solid blue should be remote. Unless your cd player has a dimmer feature, forget it. Sometimes youll have extra wires, hence "universal wiring harness" . If you need any other help lemme know.

I think that the face plate of the radio does have a dimming feature on it, but I really don't care about that just want it to light up when it's dark and I turn on the headlights (like all the other things in the car does). So the only wires I should have to connect are the...

RE: Stereo Wire Help
Your stereo will light up regardless. Now, if you have a power antenna then wire it. If not, crimp or tape it off. To double check that you have the correct wire for the remote, make sure your amp functions whilst your cd player is running. If your amp only comes on when the radio is on, that means that you have wired the remote to the power antenna wire. capeche?

RE: Stereo Wire Help
yeah, you can tell if you have a glass mount by looking in the back window where the defroster is built in and near the top there will be some lines that look alot like the defrost only ussally in a much more sparatic pattern and they never touch the actuall defrost lines. Thats how you know for sure.
