Default started a new project LEDs

i ordered some prewired LEDs on ebay wired for 12 volt, 50 of them, all blue
got some metal led holders, 10 of them
got some plastic led holders, 30 of them

not planning on using them all but its abobut the same cost just to buy all at once

i drilled the holes for most of them today:
two by the cigarette power supply
one behind each door handle
three in each door conpartment
four in the glove box
two in the arm rest conpartment

have to go get some wire, connectors, and switches so i can finish. i looked today but the local auto zone was out of wire and connectors, and the switches were not what i wanted. have to wait to go to another store to get the stuff

when i do the wiring im thinking of having a kill switch being a keylock switch and the other switches for the leds being mini toggle switches. im going to seperate the leds on different switches as they are above.

im a machinist so i think im going to make an aluninum plate that fits into the open conpartment above the cup holder. Do they make blanks for that spot?

will gets pics up as soon as i got the lights wired and working. so how does it all sound, any sugestions?

inside the glove box

the door conpartment

the lights in the door conpartment seem a little duller, i wired them in series insted of parallel because someone in electrical in my tech school told me that they wouldn'd be duller but i think they are, was i misinformed? should i wire them in parallel

if wiring LEDs is anything like speakers, then wiring in series yeild a higher OHM load, so there is less power getting to the LEDs

I personally put a POT in the series so allow for a dimmer.

i think it'd look better if you couldn't see the LED bulbs, but i think better pics are a must

+ 1 for not seeing the LEDs. The glow is what its all about.

Parrallel would be brighter. see if you can maybe push the bulbs in a bit to make them less visible. The glow really is what you want, not the bulb.

i will rewire them in parelle and try that. the only places that you can see the leds is in the glove box and the arm rest, i wanted them to be seen in the glove box cause they have nice metal pieces that they slide in and in the arm rest there is no where to hide them so i put one on each side of the control for the underseat glow. the leds for the handles are behind the handle on the bottem as far back as i could get them so you can only see them if you open the handle. maybe i will look into putting a dimmer on them too.
