Sound deading
First off, sound deading a civic sucks. But I have a lot of dynamat and acoustic audio studio foam all over. My rear speaker panel vibrates like crazy and my rear panels (coupe) rattle. I have pillows and what not stuffed in the metal inside the actual body panels. I was curious what anyone has done to these areas to eliminate rattling.

RE: Sound deading
well first off all sound deadening doesnt help alot of rattling..... first find the problem spot.... crank up the stereo and push and pull on interior parts... find that sweet rattling spot that stops when ya push or pull on it... and pad that area..... quick and easy....
and well for the trunk thiers no way around it... if you REALY HATE rattling trunk lid and ya dont mind suffering alittle bit of the LOW LOWS then do a front firing subwoofer setup.

RE: Sound deading
I think what i'm going to end up doing before i finish my system is gut everything down again and dynomat everything in the back. (I have already come to the point that my trunk will rattle. I have about 5 towels stuffed in the trunk lid sealed by dynomat with audio acoustic foam all over my trunk).
-addiction2bass.. by a front firing setup do you mean facing the subwoofers towards the winshield?
Also, another question is.. I have 2 05cvr12's (2 ohm) right now and soon i'm going to get 2 more.. Which kind of amp would you guys recommend? I'm thinking a 3000 watt mono would be good.
thanks again

RE: Sound deading
well with any system find out what voice coils your subs have... dual or single or 1,2,4,8ohm load.... and NEVER GO BY PEAK POWER.... always go by RMS ratting.... if they dont state RMS power than its crap!!!! and dont go overrated unless your sure the subs can take it.... i know my sub will take more power than rated for BUT still i tend to push it to hard at times..
and ya front firing setup consists of firing the sub forwards and sealing it off from the trunks air space.... this results in loosing some of the LOW bass and if the sub doesnt have ny SQ it will sound bad most likely... BUT since thiers very little pressure build up inside the trunk... thiers less pressure on the trunk panels which results in less rattling
check it out........same equipment... same camera.... same tuning BUT different boxes.
typical drop in subwoofer box firing the rear...

RE: Sound deading
I did that, but found I had the same problems in the cabin of the car unstead of the boot. My doors and crap like that rattled. So I stuck with the trunk rattle. I have rags stuffed under the number plate and in between the metal and plastic rear decks. You cant really hear it in the front so Idont really mind.
