Default Sony headunit?

i've just ordered a sony headunit (SON CDXGT520 Sony HD-Ready Car Stereo ) to replace my old JVC unit. i got the sony one because it is black/ gunmetal and with blue illumination. basically looks good and functions that i want. i just have a curiosity question though, i've never own a sony head unit, so i am wondering how well, performance wise, would the sony be compared to pioneer, kenwood, jvc, alpine. i just hope i bought a good unit that will give me decent bass. what do you guys think of this sony unit?

IMO Alpine is the way to go.
I have had two and they both performed great.

The head unit is not what gives you decent bass.
"Improved bass"is inthe speakers, believe it or not
Increased bass would be going with subwoofers.

there's an alpine that i really wanted but application guide said it won't fit my car. i couldn't decide between this sony one and a pioneer one. got this one because it looks a lot better than the pioneer. Not thinking about getting subs at all just becuase i would love to have cargo room in the trunk since it is a daily driver. i am interested in getting better speakers for the front and rear, any recommended setup i should get. what size are the speakers in the front and read for a 99 civic coupe? I believe that the headunit gives out better bass than stock though, that's what i felt when i replace the stock with the jvc one that i am now replacing.

I've got an pioneer DEH690UB (similar to DEH6900UB) and I love it. The ipod interface is awesome too. And the fact that it has high voltage RCA outputs and 6 of them is cool too.

You donot need to buy a new wiring harness. Just cut off the harness that goes to your JVC player and connect it to your new headunit wiring harness and you're set.

It should come with a set of wires that go from the back of your headunit
to the wiring harness.
