Sirius Radio to battery?
So I recentley installed my Sirius Sattellite radio. I love it, and I higly reccomend it. The only problem is, I hate that it takes up my ciggerette lighter. I hate hate HATE clutter in the cab, and was wondering if anyone has wired up their Sirius or XM to the battery or any other way as to not take the ciggerette lighter.

dont hook it up to 12 volts or your gonna be buying a new one!!!! either take the plug apart and solder on at the board or use a pig tail..... the end is more than just a fuse... it steps the voltage down to 5 volts..... hope i caught you in time

Go to your local radio shack and get a female cig. socket. Pull your radio, find 12v switched, and ground. Connect the cig socket (fused say 7.5amps) Plug in the sirius cig plug, tape it up and secure it behind the radio. Run your cables our where ever you have the unit mounted......
