Default Separate Subs

If I have subs and I don't want to use em (when I just wanna listen to the FM radio) can I turn off the woofers, so that I can use the factory small speakers, or that depends on the headunit? I know it's a stupid question, but I need to know

Thats easy. Wire an on/off switch from your remote wire, it will shut off the amp and tadah!... no subs.

no problem , i did it to mine once to shut off one of the two subs when i wanted it. Go find a cool switch and wire it to where your e-brake is. If you look you will see 4 slots for switches. If I had audto windows thats where i put mine.

Also most newer car stereos have seperate subwoofer controls if sub preouts are in use. Mine mutes when turned down to 0. Wish I had the switch spots by my E-brake.

FOr those of you who dont know, Eclipse's father company is Fujitsu Ten. One of the brother companies are Fujitsu... who make the smallest not books and one of the best plasmas in the world! Thats why Eclipse is well know for their excellent resolution LCD screens in the car audio world.

Eclipse does have some good product. and I never ment to imply that old cannot not be good(Remmie). I had my original nakamichi 6disc in dash from 1997 in my previous car. No longer worked after it was totaled though. I do like the way eclipse older subs looked with the brush metal face...clean and sounded damn good too. Ohh and hell I do have the switch spots(lack of attention to detail) Thanks for looking out I had to run and check with the quickness.

Well I'm plannin to get some SAL, or MacAudio subs (they're pretty popular here in Hungary... but come to think of it... there are the only ones in Hungary)
