Default Replace subs

I am trying to replace my 2 Infinity Perfect 10.1 10" 4-ohm Component Subwoofer that are being powered by Alpine MRP-M650 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms.

It seems my Infinitiy's keep burning out, I keep soldering the wire but it keeps melting. So I needed to find a set of 10's that could be powered by that amp.

SSA subs are pretty sweet, but the dcons only come in 4 ohm DVC configuration.....they might make a couple in D2 for you, i think it'd be worth it

Type R's are nice, but they would be underpowered....maybe look into RE audio

Well I dont really have a budget, as long as im not paying what I would if I would just upgrade.

Im looking for a set of 10s to last me until I feel like buying a new amp, and a new box for 12s. So maybe some 10s thatll last for a year to a year and a half.

O yea links to the item would be great ex. Crutchfield, Ebay, or any other good dealers.

Just turn down the gain. Those subs are very nice and I would cater my amp to the subs rather than the subs to the amp....

there is lots of nice 10's out there so we'd need some specifics on what u are lookin for is your box ported or sealed and how many cubic feet and how much are you looking to spend on a pair once those are answered then it would be alot easier to give you a choice of subs

ya just turn the gain down! the gain is not a volume control which alot of people think it is! turning that gain up may sound great inside the car but its clipping the signal which causes extra heat which inturn blows the subwoofers! go to a stereo shop and ask them if they can set your gain and other controls for you.... some people can do it by ear like me and be great.... others cannt tell a difference.... i used to burn up amps and subs alot when i first started my stereo setups... it got expensive and i learned to properly set the gains on the amplifier! most of my amps i set to about 1/2-3/4 of the way on the gain controls. and bass boost is MAX ill ever set it to is 1/2 if that no more!

you just need to set the controls properly and keep them there! i know the subs sound louder with them cranked but the subs will not last nor will the amplifier, then you call the equipment crap when its not its just you didnt set it up properly.
not trying to be a d*** about it.... please dont think im calling you stupid. everyones gotta learn from scratch sometime or jsut pay to have everything installed and setup for them.

just dont keep soldering the tensil wires... the more you do that the less the tensils can flex and eventualy it will rip the wire out from the subwoofers cone. been there dont that

^ good point. fortunately i didn't blow any amps or subs before i learned that.....

If you want louder, I'd look at the sub install....make sure the box is the cubic feet and the port is tuned to a good frequency, that kind of stuff

Car audio is 10% equipment, 90% install
