Default Putting big amp/sub into the stock 2006 Civiv EX system.

I just traded in my 2002 Lincoln LS (POS!) in yesterday for a 2006 Honda Civiv and I have a 1,000 watt alpine amp and a 12" sub that I would love to put in the civic but i noticed that the battery is smaller than normal which i dont think would matter much because it would run off of the alternator but imwondering if it would generate enough electricity to power that big of an amp? My lincoln LS had no problem and i didnt have a capacitor but that was probably a much bigger alternator that whats in the civic. Any suggestions??

Thanks much!,
Nick

First off I'm not gonna lie, I'm surprised you have decent grammar even though you don't use commas, but pleaaaase use commas. Also is it 1000 watts RMS or max? RMS will be fine if that's the case, as long as you have a decent power gauge size

Yes, itis 1,000 watt RMS. I talked to best buy today and they said that it would be fine, but suggested a capacitor. Do you think that that would be neccessary too?

P.S. Are those commas where they should be?!?! lol

Thanks for the advice!,

haha, thanks
I don't recommend a capacitor, the dudes at best buy go by a manual I think, since they all usually say the exact same thing, which just helps them with their sales...
A second battery would do MUCH better than a capacitor, is cheaper, and is rated for amp hours rather than amp seconds. Go with a second battery rather than a cap

What model Alpine amp? If it's a PDX Get yourself a Kinetik, or Audio Force power cell to replace the factory battery.
Even if the amp isn't a PDX..... get the battery. You don't need 2 of them. Upgrade the big 3.
