Push Start Ignition

Default Push Start Ignition

Hey I just wired a push start ignition button on my 2000 civic ex
I just bought a button from kraegan and some wiring and soldered it together, I was even able to hide the button, its pretty sweet, i recomend anyone to try it, its easy and fun to do
Any thoughts on this?

its not a kill switch, you put the key in the ignition and turn it to the start position, but the key cannot run the starter, once the key is in the on position you step on the clutch and push the button, which cranks the engine over till it starts

Yes it is a kill switch. In this sense a kill switch stops the car from starting if you don't know what your doing. Basically it makes it harder for thieves. so your both kindof right.

Just curious...
If your intention wasn't a kill switch, why did you hide it?

There's no more chance of frying the starter this way than there is by starting it with the stock ignition cylinder setup.

If a thief doesn't know where the button is, it'll be harder for him to start the car. It could still be roll-started though. Considerably better protection would be to also add a hidden kill switch to cut the fuel pump off.

not a true push button start lol

a push button start you dont need a key lol

so essentially yes its a kill switch congrats
