RE: Plexi-glass box...
a plexibox has no audio quality differances then a MDF box
^ wrong.
Think about it. Do you think people just pulled using MDF out of their butts?
As for the original question... listen to Remmy. Build it out of 3/4" MDF and make a window. Or if you wanna show them off, just put em in backwards.

If it were it be a little rough.
But seriously, Im gonna get down to the nitty gritty for the ignorants. Good clean sound is always at its best when it can be absorbed. Pretty much the least resonance you have, the best sound you get. Grainy wood tends to be great because of it sound absortion qualities. MDF is superb because it wood shavings pressed together. If you had an all glass box, the resonance would be unbelievably bad or aka "hollow". Have you ever wondered why there are thick, thick, thick felt or cotton curtains in movie theaters? Or if you had the means or experienced this, a home theater sounds much better when there is carpet and furniture in the room compared to it being empty.

a plexibox has no audio quality differances then a MDF box. IF it did bobby gately wouldn't be making a fortune selling SQ systems. $500 for a box though is a little insane

Ngoti8toron't forget to drill pilot holes so the MDF doesn't split, and use carpenters glue as well.
