Well, I have got the list of what i should be ordering tomorrow. I am ordering all of this from www.onlinecarstereo.com so maybe i won't go wrong. Here is the list: Alpine mrp-f240 4 channel amp , Alpine mrd-m1005 mono subwoofer amp , and two Alpine 12" swr-1222d subs. The subs are 2ohm+2ohm so am I choosing the right ones or do I need the 4ohm+4ohm ones? I also know i need wires but I don't know which ones to go with. For the 1000w amp, I need a 4 gauge power and ground leads and an 80 amp fuse. For the smaller amp I need 10 gauge power and ground leads. Can somebody help me out on which ones to get from this site? Do I need anything else when purchasing this? I guess all of this will work with my plans to power the 4 speakers with the 4 channel amp and the 2 subs with the mono amp? Is this all correct? I am a little confused about the mono amp powering the 2 subs. Oh, I haven't bought a box yet either because I want it to fit in my trunk, so when I go looking for a box, any suggestions? This should be the last topic and questions that I have until I recieve the items. Thanks.

its called a mono block for a reason. and i could see you getting like 300 per sub. might as well get 2, and im stil not understanding why 12s

 

well, 12's just seem to be the ideal size and thats what i have always wanted. so, will that mono amp work with these TWO subs?

 

Yeah, you can hook up two subs to a mono amp provided the impedence doesn't go lower than the rated impedence of the amp. I like 12's... they a good ballance between response and level. 10's are more responsive and 15's are louder.

I may actually trade my 12" in a vented box for a 10" in a small sealed box eventually. I'm more about SQ than SLP now-a-days.

 

10" rule,, 12s can get sloppy and 15" just arnt worth it.

 

< prefers 8's but not much on the market that can handle alot of power.

 

well, i ordered the 2 amps. the 4 channel one and the 1000w mono. as far as subs, i havent ordered them yet because they were on backorder and i am going to go to my local shop and see if they have them WITH a box. i might change my mind when i hear some more anyways...i would like to have a jl12w7 but they are LOUD and WAYYY TOO MUCH $$$$!!!! id only need 1 though!
