Howmany wires do you have running to the amp? You should have the RCA cables, a ground, power wire, and a remote wire. I'm guessing you must have tapped into the wrong remote wire. This wires tells the amp to shut off when the radio is turned off. The wire goes from the back of the radio to the amp. Most of the time, the remote wire is blue.

Disconnect the remote wire at the amp and see if the light goes out. If it doesn't, the amp is bad. If it does, the wire is connected to the wrong place. It should go to the remote turn on wire from the head unit.

If that wire is staying live all the time, there is a problem with the head unit. You can work around that by connecting the amp remote to the red ignition wire instead. Then the amp will go on and off with the key, regardless of whether the head unit is on or not. That will prevent the battery from draining while the car is parked.

Definitely check your REMOTE wire first. That's most likely the problem. The remote wire is USUALLY blue/white striped...but check the manual for your head unit to make sure

The remote wire needs to be connected to the blue remote wire coming off the head unit harness (if aftermarket). Your battery is a constant power source. That's why the amp won't turn off.
