urban myths never die....
my SQ ported 15" sounds better then alot of sealed 10" and 12", and is certainly louder then most dual ported 12" systems. Response has nothing to do with the SD of the cone. I listen to everything from death metal to rap and just about nothing in the price range of my sub comes close.
The key is: Don't by crappy subs or they will sound crappy regardless

because unless he feels like listening to slow 3 note rap songs, the 15 is right on the line of being to friggin big. the respons will be poor. and the sound quality will also suffer. buy 2 quality 10s, in a quality box, and you have better sound.

You're right there is alot of crap out there and you shouldn't buy it. But it stands cone area has nothing to do with how tight/sloppy a sub is. If you know anything about physics/audio engineering you would know the T/S parameters, mainly the motor strength/design of the sub is the key role in that. Yes, if you use the same motor on a 15" that you would a 10", it will be sloppy. Loud systems are for people who want loud. And I didn't say my 15" was louder then anything. I said it is louder then the majority of subs that are "tight". 128 with 1 12" is pathetic, sorry "bud"

i never said your 15 is Louder then anything as in in comparison, i mean i could care less if its louder then anything as in ( louder then a 10" crap sony or a 20000000 watt jl.) i dont care. louder is a stupid term to use for systems.
and no. 128 for a single sub is not pathetic. world records sit around 180 db for systems with 8-14 subs. a good % of people who have systems in their cars never touch much over 100 db. so no. thats far from pathetic. let alone , it wasnt like a W7 or XXX sub. it was a 300 watt PG.

Loud is not the point here, spreading a retarded myth that a 15" is only good for 3 note rap songs, should be crossed from your memory.
