Actually, JBL and Infinity have the highest DB subwoofers in the market on the norm. No joke. I saw a JBL with a 94dB sensitivity once. Basically it would almost need twice as less power to get loud as an 87dB Kicker.

THEN, when paired with a low resistance famous JBL class D amp which is much better than an A or A/B amp for subs and the low voltage it draws AND the way it keeps itself ungoddly cool all makes a great duo.

now your getting really technical...tuning boxes, personally unless your going to go into sound compititions its not worth it..you wont notice a difference, tuning boxes is more for people who are going into comps that have to have the sound perfect, your going to need to get someone to build you a box to the exact dimentions as your box..if you want to build it, check out this like..you fill in the information, and it tells you how to build a perfect box, good luck

........ are you serious?
Alright, 97 minus 93, 97-93=4, carry the 0, add 0....
It's got 4 more dB than the JBL
I think he was talking about how much louder it would be in the car. Which depends on the amp, box, car, temperature etc etc etc

Dude, did you not just read my whole post about tuning a box for 34 Hz? It's exactly the same.

Yeah... for every 3dB you go up the power needed to make the same amount of sound goes down by half.

It's the same principal like, if you're measuring your sound level it's wayyy harder to get more and more dB's the higher you go because every 3dB you go, you need to double the output.

So, in theory... If you're running two subs at 300 watts and you get 90 dB, you'll need to crank it up to 600 watts to get 93 dB.

4 10's... where is he planning on putting these in a truck? And why does he want to destory his hearing in the first hour he has them?

You should tell him audio isn't all about loud.

No. It's kind of like the HP of a car, it's a standardized measurement that gauges how many dB of sound it can make for any particular power level.

Like I said before the actual sound level is determined my a huge amount of factors.

Try reading some articles on audio equipment. It will help you immensely. Google is your best friend if you're new to a subject.
