I have 2 12'' Visonik powered by a 600w xplod amp. i might get a new amp.
here is the spec on my subs
1000 Watts Power Handling (500 Watts Each)
500 Watts RMS Power Handling (250 Watts RMS Each)
Frequency Response: 20Hz-300 Hz


I want to get somthing lighter like a single 10'' or 12'' already in a box.
i figer i single is lighter than my two 12''?

You think upgrading to a good 10''/12'' is better than my 2 cheap visonik subs?

 

Yes I do. But one of your visioniks can sound better than both if put in a box built to spec

What's your budget for a new sub?

 

$200, but i want to buy a sub that has its own box. I like kicker, i here not to get there comp subs. And i here you guys like the alpine. and i think i want a 12'' but ill let you guy's deside on what i should get. and for an amp ill get one that can get me the most out of my one sub.

a single sub for $200 would be a great improvement, but i don't think you can get a single sub WITH a box that will be better. Almost every sub that comes with a box is ported.....and tuned way too high. Or it's not the right airspace.

Believe me, the install is a HUGE part of car audio. If you're willing to build your own box, it's worth it and not hard. Just straight cuts, screwing and gluing.

If not, go to best buy or somewhere and listen to as many subs as you can preferably in the box it comes with or whatever

edit: also if want to get an Alpine type R (quite good), buy it on ebay or woofersetc.com.....maybe evey craigslist...Just shop around cause you can find them for cheap

get a jl audio w7 and a good box to hold it... friend ran one of those and it hits harder than my 2 12's

Gets quite loud, but is lacking in the sound quality department.

Idk if it was a type r, but I saw an alpine only came in 12" sub that's like the same price as the L7 but it was 3000w, L7 is 1500w. Is it lowere quality?

I lisin to mainly rap and have my volum up good. Should I get a 10" or a 12". I here the shape of the kicker solo 10" sound like 12" and 12" sound like 15"?
