ummm, loudness... spl is the proper term, but i guess its better understood by saying loudness.
As for the rattles, they are in your car whether you have something cheap or expensive. Doesn't matter how clear your bass is, if you hit a clear 40Hz note or a sloppy one, if 40Hz will cause you plastic to rattle, then its going to rattle.

ALSO as for the distortion, if you choose and tune your amp correctly, you shouldn't have to worry about distortion.

ya i was about to say... distorted bass doesnt cause rattles... loose or thin steel or plastic will rattle with any kinda bass!
you cannt be increasing bass notes without geting rattles! the key is finding whats rattling and FIX IT from rattling anymore! like trunk lids, rear decks,coins in your coin holder.... or just realy thin cheap plastic trim pieces that are flexen.....

you make it sound like anyone that rattles is crappy distorted bass.....
the cars rattling not your stereo equipment! NOW IF YOU HAD SOME SUBS THAT RATTLED BEFORE... you REALY had some crapy equipment and horible settings! LOL

Lol @ the Distortion causes rattles. I guess Dynamat makes amps not clip then.

And I run Fi BLs, fully-loaded, Scott and the team make great subs, even better customer service.

 

ya you know your favorite toy as a baby was a distorted POS rattle..... LMFAO
tho i want FIs BTL fully loaded.... eventualy ill have that sub! but for now im running my RE SX 12.

 

SXs can get loud, box/amp? BTLs are sick though. I have heard a few and they are crazy. Of course a SAZ1500 PER coil might get loud. I plan on upgrading to HD3s in the next few months.
