RE: just need a small bit of help
its best to mount it as close to the battery as you can....
since yours has to mounted that far away DEFINATLY make sure the wire is zip tied outta the way of anything that moves or gets hot!
if i was you id pull the wire back into the engine bay and shorten the fuse to battery wire...
and tho tape might look like its holding... its just thin tape that can flex...
some epoxy works great cause it realy sticks alot beter! and it hardens solid so thiers no way it will come off! just be sure to put the tape on the outside of the cone so none gets thru the crack and realy looks bad...
just try not to put it on realy thick... the 5min epoxy has alot of work time BUT since it doesnt dry so fast it has tons of time to OZZE everywhere!, 60second epoxy has just enough time to mix good and apply and it should stick where you put it! just work quick... if ya cannt move fast enough only do half of the crack every mix...
thats how i do my larger projects when i use it.

RE: just need a small bit of help
Get rid of the wood pieces and buy some small L brackets and screw one side in the car and the other to the box, do it on the back where the amp is mounted that way the box won't move and you can't see them.
