i hate that touch bar thing. that is the reason i bought mine, it was the best one without that stupid bar thing. but i love my alpine, it is so nice, and out of the few alpines i had i never had any problems with any of them.

yea man i got the step above that....the 9855. very expensive but im glad i got it. they dont make either of those now but in my opinion they are the 2 best alpine ones made. ( aside from their monitor ones )
it isnt exactly a step above, but it is the newer model of that type of HU. 9835=2004 and 9855=2005 pretty much the same features, except the 9855 has the touch bar instead of buttons which a lot of people didnt like. do you like it?
HAHA I was gonna say the same thing. I got my roomate the 9855 the first month they came out off of ebay. I hated that glidetouch thing sooooo much, apparently a lot of people did, because the 9855 is usually found on the net for about 60 bucks cheaper than the 9835.

Now the only thing I CAN'T find is the Amp link module (KCE-510m)
I have a mono and 4 channel v12 amp, and I put them under the seats....its bugging me, a month ago there were like 10 on ebay, and now...nothing?

Pheonix: Ya a link to specs on that deck would be nice

No CD but why need it if you have all your music in the ipod?

haha just a random off topic question. how hard is it to install a 4 channel amp? like i know that you run 2 sets of RCAs from the hu to the amp. and i also have a monochannel for my subs, so il just tap into the power wire instead of running it to the battery again. so do you just disconnect the speaker wires from the deck and just make then long enough to reach the amp and your set? or what?
