Default Interesting Problem

My mom drives a Dodge Intrepid, and sometimes, Ill take her car out (usually when Im out of gas). The car doesnt have a CD player installed, so I have to you use one of the adapters that plugs into a regular portable CD player, and the other end goes into the tape deck. Well, today I was driving, and the right front speaker wasnt working, there was no sound coming out at all. So I turned off the CD player and took out the adapter to use the regular radio. And it worked fine, clear sound on all sides. I plug the adapter back in, and again, no sound from the right speaker. Eventually, the sound from the right speaker started to come and go, more going going than coming though. I know its not a Honda, but I was wondering if anybody has any clue as to what could to be wrong. I havent the foggiest...

it has something to do with the adapter. Probably just the small wires that are f**ked, or were you plug it in the cd player might not be pushed in completly.

I used an adapter like you are talking about for about a year. They just seem to wear out. I think i went thru 3 of those things.

edit: I just remembered that one time the tape head in the radio got "dirty" so i took a Q-tip with some rubbing alchohol and wiped it clean and it worked like a charm.

I think tomorrow Im going to buy a new adapter. I figured a 10 piece thing wouldnt work too long, and I guess 2 years is a pretty good lifetime, but at least I dont have to pay big bucks for something else being wrong.

there is another adapter unit for dooing the same thing but instead of using the tape deck it goes through a specified station on F.M. radio and is way more reliable and sound quality is better.

yeah i agree, you'd be better off buying a fm modulator, they are not expensive and it's better than sticking a tape with a wire sticking out in your tape deck
