Default Illumination wire power

What is the power specs of the illumination wire? (volts/amps) Basicly, im trying to hook my underbody neons to turn on when i flip the head lights on. Is there a way to access this wire from the engine compartment?

what year? On my 99, its fuse #32. That gets power when you turn your running lights on.

And what color underbody neon? If its blue or red (or maybe any color at all) its probably illegal to drive with them on....

Look in you're manual, or when you take the cover to your fuse panel. It should tell you what fuses are what in the panel, and if i'm not mistakes.. The amps should be displayed on the fuses. But, they should have PLENTY of amps to be able to withstand those neons. I forgot where I heard it from.. (I think it was from Oznium.com), but.. Neons and stuff usually only take .3~.5 amps, so really.. Thats not even 1 amp. Most fuses are 5, 10, 15, ect. Like, for myself. I hooked my interior LED flex strips to my security fuse, and it has 15 amps. Since the security is on ALL the time, my car can be completely off and I can have my lights on (Given I flip the switch for them to turn on). I thought this way was easiest for me, anyways. I know there are plenty of other fuses I could of used, but.. Hell, if it works the way I want it to, I don't care .

I dont have a manual. But i was looking at some other posts compeletely unrelated to this and found a diagram of the underdash fuse box. there is a plug there that turns on with the headlights (if im interpreting it right) that i will hook my neons to. but idk where to get a plug that will fit it to hook the wire up to. just an auto-parts eletronic section you think?

You mean a killswitch? If so.. Just go to autozone or someplace, they have some nice variety of switches. Or www.oznium.com has some cool switches. If i'm understanding you correctly (Its a switch you're looking for, right?).

i think its at 10A fuse in the underdash fuse box. There should be a small little number on the gray fusebox right below the fuses, use a flashlight and you'll see it. Its in like the top right corner of the fusebox

Agreed. Check your state laws on that one. People get ticketed here all the time for driving with them on, and here, it's illegal to have blue lights because all police in Arkansas have standardized to blue lights. Laws vary widely from state to state. Just because they don't get caught with them on while driving doesn't mean that you can't.

^ exactly, its impersonating a vehicle of the law (i got pulled over for having my blue LED lights on my mirrors on while driving). Maybe they'll give oyu a warning, but its prolly illegal man, unless the cops are super cool
