Ok you want light? Ill get you light. First start with the new components that MA Audio has out. They use neodymium magnets for less weight and mounting depth. These bad boys also use carbon fiber for their woofers. You can do the same with the 6x9's in the back. Then choose an amp that suits you , you preferably should get a monoblock that can at least go into 500 watts @ 2 ohms.
Then get the new subwoofers from Blaupunkt, yea thats right Blaupunkt has some new badass subwoofers out that arent just light, they are 2 inches thick!! Head units pretty much wiegh the same, go out and pick one that suits you. Avoid Pioneer and Sony especially unless youre looking at one that is $500.000 and up. Here are the links for all the shiznit Ive been talking about. The subs are cool be sure to read up on them. BTW the speakers handle a lot of paower and they are EXTRMELY efficient, they dont need as much power to produce certain volumes of sound as other speakers do.

Care to explain why you're saying to stay away from pioneer. IMO their HUs sound great. Sony is questionable, but pioneer?

I agree. Stay away from Pioneer HU's. Their speakers are hard to beat though.

I never really liked their speakers much either. Dont worry im not hating on you pioneer lovers. In my experience, ive always noticed that the speakers would flake out in high volumes and "whiz" most of them up until about a year ago, featured a paper like tweeter. More detail on the headunits, Ive also always noticed that Pioneers hu's tend to "drive" to hard, like just completly "over do" music by wildly distorting it (i.e. too much bass or treble) and when you turn the wow features off it sounds way to flat. Ive had numerous Pioneer heads tell me that. Although if your looking at a $500 pioneer head unit or higher, go for it. Their top of the line kick the ***!

ive yet to encounter a prob with pioneer headunits......theyre really good man. The best headunits are made by pioneer and alpine. End of story.
