RE: How to stop exterior rattles
ya first thing is to determine WHAT is rattling...
i had two problems on my 99civic. one liscence plate trim panel and liscence plate.
i fixed my trim panel rattling
with some cheap @ss peel and seal that i got from menards thats used to seal gutters.
i put some dynomat sound deadening liscence plate stuff on my plate but it didnt work to good.. mainly cause the plate isnt tight enough on the lid.... its a preaty easy fix with some foam strips i just havent felt like it yet....
its not to bad..... will need to be done eventualy...
then i had some rattling on my bumper cover from the front top bolts not being tight anymore... had to put a washer over the plastic nipple part on the retainer so the bumper cover would be down enough for it to hold tight! worked great... i also used some zip ties around the plastic retainers so they wouldnt stretch out so easy so it wouldnt loosen up again...
but crank up the system in a open parking lot and start pressen on body panels and figure out what actualy is the problem rattling.... well besides the subs LOL but thats a good problem [8D]
but one thing ive been thinking about doing is drilling a hole in the trunk for the lower liscence plate bolt location.... thinking that is! i dont realy want to BUT if my foam strips dont work ill have to....
