I think a hammer is excessive,

I'd like to get rid of that little compartment under the stock radio.

Is that held in using clips from behind like the radio?

Default RE: how do you remove stock cd players

In my '01 civic coupe :

I had to remove the area surounding the cigarette lighter, behind it if you look up and behind the plastic you will see two screws holding a metal piece that is attached to the radio. unscrew the two bolts, and put your hand up their and push out from the inside. The rest is pretty self explanitory, unscrewing the bolts it get the old radio out, and then just installing your new radio.

Now i just need help installing all my speakers.
