how do I get a wire up through the center of the dash??
For some reason, the kid who owned my Civic before me had the Cobra radar/LIDAR detector on the driver's side. He had the power adapter cord go from the passenger side (to plug into the cigarette lighter) back behind the radio plastic tied to one of the fluorescent lights on the driver's side near the kick panel and then somehow up through the side of the dash.
So I get the best range possible, I want to bring it up through the center without having the cord dangling in front of the head unit and vents to the center of the windshield where it should be. I'd be willing to put it through one of the center vents since that's so close to the top of the dash, but I don't know how to do that either.
Do I have to take off the console and the entire dash to do this? Is there an easier way or a better way?? Thanks for any feedback.

What year? if it's a 6th gen you should to take apart the whole dash, it'll be way easier if you do that.
Here: this should help http://www.installerworld.com/Instructions/98HCR.htm

Just take out the glove box, you will probably be able to see a workable path up the center then. Also it's not too complicated to pull the heater control panel, though the radio must be removed first.

I hope it's ok to post honda-tech links here:
The pictures have been removed, but you should be able to figure it out, it isn't very difficult

well dont know how much it can help BUT if your willing to cut the wires and re conect them after running them, then pop out that center dash vent and cut or drill a small hole in the air duct to run the wire thru it and find the wire under the dash from behind and just reconect the wires.
shouldnt be to difficult.
my previous owner of my 94 had some O2 sensor wires ran thru it for some O2 display thing.
just dont drill a hole in the dash! previous owner did mine to mount his stupid cheap display and now i got 2 holes in my dash at least my radar detector covers them up.

just push the wire up beside the glove box, on the side closest to the inside of the car, then you can push the wire up through the vent on top og the dash. that is what i did with my radar detector. i had to drill a hole in the vent, so that there was enough room to get the small plug through, but you should be alright.
