Help with Sub and Amp

RE: Help with Sub and Amp
Oh yeah, just noticed that on the sub you have a dual 2ohm voice coil on that. You're gonna want to get a dual 4ohm because the amp you have there is only stable at 2ohm. and with the dual 2 you'll be around 1ohm. This is all assuming that you hook it up in parrallel (pos to pos, neg to neg).

RE: Help with Sub and Amp
I dunno how this stuff compares to Rockford or Alpine or any of them, but I have a Power Acoustic setup in mine (2 10's @ 1600W / 1 1600W{360x2} amp / 5F digital cap) and it works great! Way too much bass for me, so I always got it on low, but on some amp models they now offer adash mounted bass controlknob. I have had mine for over a year now with no problems andthe cap has done great too...full bass, no headlight dimming!!! You'll have to google "Power Acoustik" and the sub/amp/cap that you choose off their site because they don't sell direct from the site, but you're looking to spend around $300-350total for all of this. Check it out!

RE: Help with Sub and Amp
yes, of course it'll work. but the only thing you have to remember is that at 4ohms you will be getting less power to your subs because it's a higher resistance. At 2ohms it's a lower resistance so you can flow more power. Not a problem.

RE: Help with Sub and Amp
Yeah, go with a 4 ohm DVC sub if your gonna get anything. Most dealers should sell both types, there is no difference in the sub other then the resistance they give.
The higher number of actual ohms on the sub isn't going to do a thing to effect the end result, but give you more control over your entire system. Subs go up to 8 ohms in some cases, but anyone will tell you the lower your end result the more power your gonna get. If it's not going to cost anymore, I would choose a 4ohm DVC sub.
And I still say ported for rock, sealed for rap. But again, thats my personal preference.
