Help About Civic 98 speakers.
Hi guys,
Bought a civic 98 coupe two days ago. i wanted to upgrade front speakers so i took them out and bought a new pair from best buy.
but now the problem is civic comes with wiring connector clips. there is a clip at the end of the wires that goes on the clip on the stock speakers. Now the new speakers i bought dont have that kind of clip. i was looking on the internet it said i have to find a harness. i found 2 harnesses but they dont seem right to me for 1998 civic ex coupe.
here is the link.

what brand speakers did you buy? wat model.
You have to cut that stock clip connector off. they are useless....
so that you have two separate wires. a positive(+) and a negative(-)
then just connect that to your aftermarket speakers, with the matching pole...(RED MEANS +, BLACK MEANS -)
To find out which one is positive and negative take a look at this:
Right Front (+) blue (-) gray / black stripe
Left Rear (+) blue / yellow stripe (-) gray / white stripe
Right Rear (+) red / yellow stripe (-) brown / white stripe

well thats the right option.
the clip is only for those old stock speakers lol.
my 93 civic had those too. i had to cut them all as well. (they did that to my friend when he got em installed at best buy too)
so YES its the best option lol.
dont worry you will never need that clip.

1. 6"x9" speakers have bad sound quality compared to 6.5" round speakers.
2. If you want bass get a subwoofer
