head unit wattage?

is their a big difference between a head unit that is 50 watts by 4 and an indash that is 35 watts by 4?? will the 35 watts by 4 have good sound quality???

well im not sure but i dont think the sound quality is what the wattage represents......its just power to your speakers so with that big of a difference my guess is that either you cant get it to go very loud or that the louder you get it the more distorted everything becomes. Ive never seen a 35 watt myself, at bestbuy the lowest is a 45 so id stay away from somethin that low. Even some of the real cheap priced ones kick out 52 why are you considering the 35 watt one in the first place?? is it a financial thing or looks or something?

well i found a nice panasonic in-dash dvd player, its a resonable price $550.00 and its touch screen, ive heard nothing but good it has everything good but im a little iffy about its 35 by 4 wattage

oh so its no a cd deck, well in that case i have no idea lol but with that new piece of info id say thats a good deal if your primarily watching movies and dont blast your radio, however if the dvd feature is only gonna b used sparinly, i wouldnt sacrifice those 15 watts but once agn im not any type of audio expert lol

yea i mean i like to listen to music at high volume and i dont want to spend that much and not be fully satisfied, ill shop around and see what happens thanks for the help

get a higher wattage, and some aftermarket speakers. if you use stock ones yes they can blowwww. at a higher watt output. get soem nice speakers if u liek loud music. dont buy sony whatever you do man, u can if u want to but talk to me in a year if u doo i will be very interested to see how they are working

id would go with the in dash. if anything find a cheap 200watt amp to power ur tweeters, 6's and 6x9's. thn if u want u could get a 1000wat amp for subs(if u dont alredi have thm). ull have a great system IMO

is the 35 watts max or rms? i had an older pioneer that only put out like 17 or 18 rms but the max was up around 45 and it powered my aftermarket speakers and then some.
