Default Finding a car stereo with no light give off

I have been looking around for a new stereo that literally gives off no light for when im driving at night, or one that i can turn down. I have yet to ride with someone who doesn't have a flashy one.

I don't hear many good things about sony, I have a pioneer and I always hear good about them.

Anyone know a model under $150 that i can dim or whatnot?

thanks.

jvc stereos have a dimmer function on them that will dim the light down, the jvc plug has the dimmer wire on it and yes they are decent decks I have had 4 of them over the years and installed over 40 of them with no issues.

can you dim it down enough so that you could literally not see the stereo at night? That would be awesome since i play music through AUX and my ipod.

no but it does dim to about 50% of the light output or so, I doubt you will find an aftermarket that dims all the way.

I don't think any stereos lights turn off completely. Get a head unit that has a flip down faceplate (for a CD player behind it). That's about all i can think of that will do the trick

Just get one with a broken display or take yours apart and unhook the display. Make a guide on paper first with how many times you have to press things to change specific settings like your EQ. Its ghetto but if the light really bugs you that much im guessing you wont care.
