Buy a toggle switch, connect the parking brake wire to one end and ground the other end. I think this should work.

I would imagine it just goes to ground when the the ebrake is up. Try connecting that wire to ground.

If you simply ground the wire you will be able to play DVD's at any time, but that will not be legal (if a cop ever checks it).

The stock wiring harness does not bring a brake switch wire up to the radio so to do the proper install you will have to go digging for it. It is the wire that goes to the "BRAKE" warning light on the cluster. Or if you take the cover off of the ebrake handle you will see the switch and can tap into the wire there.

I would just ground itright behind your head unit. honestly, if you get pulled over, turn it off! and if he saw it was on then just say it was your radio. just be careful driving with it like that.

That idea works well in the middle of a bright sunny afternoon. Try that in the middle of the night! Your busted......end a story.
I'm a hard *** on that kind of stuff. Liability is HUGE. Loose your store over a 500 dvd player that a fool want to "watch" while driving down the street.........hit's and kills someones kid (mine maybe) If the back yard, doit yourselfer, punk kid,did the install..... I'de sue his mommy and daddy for everything their worth. Dude.... it's just not worth it!
Oh but I know, you'll never get caught. OK.

I did not know it was illegal!! but with my system it did not have that safety e brake wire,

this is a pic of it, The kids TV in the back is OK? right? the passenger TV can be seen by the driver
if tilted, witch i dont watch dvd's on just use it for playing MP3's it shows a list of the songs

Is that illegal?
