Default Dynamat Install

Hey me again with yet another question. I just bought the dynamat xtreme kit 36 sq ft.... fits a whole car, what a joke, i barely finished my trunk with it. But anyways my question is how did you all do your trunk lid. As for the floor and sides easy, but im curious as to how you did the actual lid. Did you cut out little triangles or did u cover the whole lid, any info or pics would be appreciated. And no opinions please, id prefer actual knowledge.

well with most trunks... thiers a few things you can do to prevent trunk rattling...

try and find some spray foam... like expanding foam BUT not overexpanding stuff!!! i used some soft spray foam i nmy old 66impala lid which worked great.... just cover ALL of the little holes with a cotton ball shoved in the holes and tape over them to hold them inplace... and have some more cottom ***** or rags of sometype and after ya spray the foam thru the holes shove the rags or what ever in thier and again tape them in the lid.... that way the expanding foam stuff doesnt just push the rags out and plop all over your inside trunk learned that the hard way

that foam stuff will get way up in thier between the inner bracing and outter shell to keep them from rattling.... then put the sound deadener on the outside... and use a heat gun or a hot air drier and the dynomat aplicator which is preaty much just a hard roller.LOL and after cleaning the lid for a good glue bond then start applying it by hand then bust out the hot air and roller to get it all over the shell firmly.... the roller and heat will help it stretch.

RaamMat has a nice closed-cell foam.
