Then your rear deck has been modified, wich isnt too uncomon, if u used windcalmers link, it would show that the stock rears are 5.25

 

wow...such a big topic.. well my friends andi put in 6.5 in the rear which fit fine and work fine... however the 6.5 did NOT fit in the front as it should according to crutfield because it would hit the window as the window went down. so... i think either im going to put in some skinny 6.5 in the front or some smaller speakers in the front.. i havnt decided yet because i need to put my 12' sub before i decide. thanks for all the help.

 

Yeah, there is a depth limitation on the front ones, buy the actual hole diameter is 6.5, and aslong as the speeker is shallow enough it will fit.

 

I have a 95 civic ex sedan and if you put spacers in there with them and drilled new mounting holes wouldn't that stop it from hitting the window?

 

im curious........ with the acoustic research speakers.... can you replace that stock tweeter with another one?
i know its something id like to upgrade eventualy in my 94..

 

Yeah you can. Just gotta make sure the tweeters you're buying don't have a lot of extra junk on the outside to make it not fit. Most of the tweeters I've seen are either 30 or like 100 dollars...nothing in between the range, but they most all are in their own case and stuff...so I dunno if you have to find one that is slightly smaller or what.
