Im also looking at the directions that came with the speakers (which are lousy directions, i might add) and they leave the 7th tab blank.

i guess its just an infinity thing. lol.

btw, the directions automatically assume that the buyer will have an aftermarket amp. great...

 

I don't know what the hell that 7th tab is for, lol.

I looked it up, it says -3db, all that tells me is that slot provides some sort of outboard signal thats high pass crossover filtered somehow.

I would just stick with the first 6, and hook it up like i mentioned, and forget that tab exists. If and when you get an amp, just run RCA wires to your amp from your head unit, and run new thicker speaker wires back to the door through the car cabin, wire them up to the inputs, and leave your other connections alone.

let me do a diagram real quick based on my Acura wiring schematic diagrams.

Looks pretty good. And later if you add an amp, just run wiring from the amp directly into the doors, and just terminate your factory /head unit power leads in the door, and replace them with the amped inputs from the trunk.

You should still get decent sound with your set-up there, but you might notice some distortion, if so, I wouldn't blast them to the max until you get an amp.

i thought i figured it out and then this happened:

I was going to splice the woofer wire and run the new wiring to the crossover like i was instructed, but then i realized that the woofer adapter wiring had FOUR wires, not the normal TWO.

two blue/green positives and two gray/black negatives like in this picture:




Is this some kind of inline component wiring scheme?


because the guy i used a tutorial from only spliced TWO wires from the woofer component area:
