Default CD player issues

I'm having problems with my CD player in my civic.
It's a Pyle PLTVRDIN65 and the CD player just stopped working. The radio still works fine and you can put in the CD and take it out no problem, it just doesn't engage the CD to play.
Doesn't go to the CD screen or anything.
Wondering if anyone knows anything that I could do to fix it?

Here is a link to the unit I have:

Thumbs down

Consider an upgrade. If the unit is broken (sounds like it to me) it's not worth a repair bill$

it's a $700 unit he has, it's worth getting fixed if possible

so yea, my recommendation is to take it to someone who repairs them (don't know where you would find this though) and find out what the problem is, it could be something minor.

It's kind of a long shot but it could just have dust on the lens. Try blowing some duster gas into the CD slot (with no disk loaded). If that doesn't help you'll have to remove it from the car and send it for repair (most likely the manufacturer is the only place that would consider working on it), or replace it.

The unit can be purchased for about $465:

Have you tried cleaning the CD?

Is the CD defective?

As mentioned, try reseting the unit by pushing the reset button on the front panel with a ball point pen.
