i think im going to scale the sub/amp/deck back. i rly dont need all that. i think a simple type r12" from alpine and a amp for it will suffice. what amp would u recommend for 1-alpine type r12"?

Here's an amp that's tiny and should work well with the Type R. But make sure to get the dual 4 ohm version

http://woofersetc.com/p7757/STL1600D...-Amplifier.htm

edit: get the DUAL 4 OHM version....sorry I got all mixed up and put the sub version for if you got 2 subs and an amp that will only run 1 sub.....

Hey, I'm going for the same setup. 1 Type-R.

Here's an amp that should do a pretty good job.

http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-M500-MR.../dp/B0013TQ6FK

Make sure to get the 4 Ohm version of the sub, and with the wires inside the packaging and manual to guide you, wire the sub to 2 Ohms (Because the amp is 2 Ohm stable)

The amp is 500 RMS at 2 Ohms and the speakers take 600, but still for the price it seems like a great buy, I actually ordered mine from them yesterday =]

No it should work just fine. Just don't let the gain setting get over like half way or so.
