Default alpine door speakers question

i got upgraded alpine door speakers for my EG civic hatch, i put em in and the magnet was in the way of the window when i wound it down, so i had to put washers behind the screws to bring the bracket forward, so the speaker would sit forward, sonot flushon the door metal. But they dont sound very good, there 250 watt each wit tweeters n cross overs, 120qwids worth so i expected them to sound better,,,and was wondering if it was the way i put em in....

thanks

Youshouldn't have free space between the speaker and the door panel.Got a pic of them mounted?

As for the sound....my guess is you aren't pushing them with enough power. Do you have an amp? If so, which one.

you could create a spacer with wood to get rid of the space between the speaker and the door.

picutres would probably be helpful, but Alpine is a pretty trusthworthy brand, it seems odd that you have fitment problems with them.

Buti think pics would be helfpul

you should definetly get your speakers sealed were there mounted. any waves coming from the back of the speaker to the front are gonna cancel your bass output.

This just sounds bad how you solved the problem. Anyways I had the same problem with my Caddy.

Make a 3/4 mdf baffle to push the speaker out. Get some modeling clay (something that can hold up in warm tempature) put the baffle on the door and screw it into the door. Now put the clay around the outside edge of the baffle and mount the speaker to it. This will improve your mid-bass response, make the over-all sound better and fix your window problem properly.
