ya for the 96-00 its a PITA! no quick way to it. just remember dont cut any factory wires

the 99-00 is easier than the 96-98 due to the location of the 2 bolts that hold the radio in. If you got the right tools, the 99-00 are easy to get to, but the 96-98 are always a PITA.

and at work we use crimp caps and zip ties on all of our radio installs and 99% of the time it works perfectly fine. I just like to solder all of my own stuff. but I also solder tons of wires every day so doing a few for my own radio is no real extra work.
