91 sedan stereo wiring

Default 91 sedan stereo wiring

So, here it is. I have two different decks, pioneer and sony. The install is in a 91 dx sedan. Ive found my constant hot,my acc, and proper grounding but niether unit will light up or nothin......wtf am I doing wrong? Any help on 4th gen wiring would be nice. thanx

haynes manual should have the wiring....did you blow a fuse? God i blew three fuses by the time i finally got everything connected......

gone through one already and still no luck...ill look in my manual,but im pretty sure everythings kosher. Could be a faulty deck.....i dunno pissin me off though

Oh yeah! Check under the hood if you haven't already.....I blew that one AND the one under the dash

Yes the constant +12 comes from the "BACK UP" fuse in the box near the battery under the hood. If you're cutting and splicing the car wires instead of using a harness adapter (not recommended), disconnect the battery before working on any wiring to avoid blowing fuses.

To test a deck take it out of the car and hook the red and yellow wires together to the (+) of a car battery, and the ground wire to (-). Make sure none of the speaker wires are touching each other or anything else. The deck should light up and act like it's playing.

Turns out the acc wire had no power, so I ran another one from the fusebox under the drivers side dash, bypassing the one with no power. Thing pounds like a champ now.
