Default 2000 Civic Hatch

Hi I am looking to upgrade my stock am/fm/tape deck in my 2000 Civic Hatchback. From what I understand the speakers in the doors are 6.5"? How about the rear ones in a hatch?

Secondly can I pretty much buy any head unit? As I am looking to buy from eBay then get a pro to install.

Any help or tips will be much appreciated.

J

Edit: I am in Australia, if that means anything.

For some reason I am drwing a blank on the rear speaker size but am about 80% sure they are 6X9s.

As for the deck you can by any stndard size deck and then pick up a dash kit and a wiring harness and the install will be a snap. For a really clean look you can skip the dash kit and use the factory pocket and screw the new deck into the metal mounting brackets that are already there but this will take alot more time and some small custom skills if you are savvy youc ould try it

the rear speakers are definetly 6x9, but the fronts are smaller than 6.5, because i have some 6.5's in my hb, and they had to do some cutting to make them fit! but its worth it

the fronts are 6 1/2s but most 6 1/2s nowadays are oversized so thats why people think they arent 6 1/2s.

Boston makes a 6 1/2 inch that is a direct fit to honda 6 1/2s. It is the FX6H, the H is for Honda.

So I am thinking of buying this gear;

SONY XPLOD XS-GT6947X 6x9" 400W 4-Way SPEAKERS NEW 05
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

BOSTON ACOUSTICS FX6-H 6.5" 2-WAY SPEAKERS HONDA FORD
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

KENWOOD KDC-MP728 CD MP3 WMA Player NEW!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Should it all work out, or do I have to buy additional gear? Whats the deal with component speakers, is that what the sony ones are?

Thanks.
