CiViC07AtX's 2000 LX Project
hey guys CiViC07AtX here starting my project thread on my Beloved 4dr 2000 CiViC LX Titanium Metallic color. this is my second civic and my first Civvy was a red 93 2dr POS i picked up from Craigslist for $1300 about a year ago and it lasted me until now the tranny crapped out and wouldnt go in reverse so i put it up on CL and traded it straight out for my motorcycle FZR600 which is my other passion and hobby besides CiViCs haha
So i ended up getting another civic because i fell in love with the first one even though it was a POS but hey beggars cant be choosers but luckily this time i was able to choose...so i picked up this 2000 CiViC LX here in austin..this baby only has 38,000 miles!! so i had to get it! didnt dig the color at first but it grew on me and i dig it now
heres of it the 1st day i owned it and after putting my rims on it which they dont look thier best right now i need to clean and polish them

so since i love customizing and fabricating anything i can get my hands on i went lookin around in the forums and the DIY threads..my first project i decided to customize was my grill..i thought about buying one from ebay but decided to save money and do it myself and get my hands dirty..heres some pics i never though i would be posting the pics do i didnt really take step by step pics when i did it but if u would like to know how theres a thread in the DIY section which i followed to do mine

came out pretty sick for a DIY grill..i might buy the OEM titanium Metallic paint online to paint the grill to match instead of it black but we'll see

Alright! Titanium Metallic Mafia! Not feeling the calipers and drums, but hey, its your car.
I have heard that you can go to autozone or pep boys and pick up a can of "arizona beige" and it's REALLY close to the titanium metallic color. Cheaper alternative.

car looks in great shape, and very creative with the grill. not feeling the wheels though, but glad to see more people dispelling the notion that gold sedans are for old people. It will look way cleaner if you decide to paint the grill.
About the arizona beige, it does match good from a straight on view, but lighting at certain angles somehow makes it look darker. However it is $6 instead of $25 for factory match. I used it on my grill, trim, and lip and am satisfied with the results. You can see it on my lip in my signature.
If you are gonna use it for a touch up, dont just spray it on the area of the scratch, cause that will definitely look blotchy. Cut a stencil a little bigger than the scratch into a piece of newspaper, and then spray only that one spot.

i picked up a used lip from craigslist $25 i thought it was a good deal..it was scratched pretty bad but didnt have any cracks or major damage..nothing a lil sanding and paint cant fix so once again i got my hands dirty and got right away down to sanding and sprayed it...it came out really good and its really flows and compliments black grill and the tinted lights and wheels it looks really cool and im probly ganna keep the grill black..deffinetly a different look ive never seen personally on a civic before and thats exactly what im goin for..its it awesome how just rendering and customizing stock parts you already have can dramatically change the look of the car

mock up before sanded and painted the lip

took some good night and day shots after installation
